Jamestown and Seventeenth-Century Virginia
A guide to published and digital resources related to European colonization in Virginia.
“Indians of North America – Virginia” (99-0308). Library of Virginia Prints and Photographs Collection.
This guide was originally created in 2007 to mark the the Jamestown landing's 400th anniversary. In commemoration of this event, scholars produced a number of well-researched books about Jamestown and colonial Virginia, many of which worked to update the distorted narratives of early European colonization popularized by earlier historians.
