Directories are often the best place to begin researching a company. Directories list the name and address of companies. Additionally, some directories list the names of major officers, the dates that the company was incorporated or began operating, and whether a business was a subsidiary or a division of a larger entity.
Covers over 50,000 U.S. and foreign public companies and includes a description of each firm, statistics, financial information and ratios, annual reports, SEC filings, mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, long-term debt, capital stock, and institutional and insider holdings data.
By examining Virginia city directories, you can often learn where a business was located, names of individuals associated with the business, and company names used over time.
